Château Desmirail is one of the mythical estates of the famous Margaux appellation. Founded at the end of the 17th century (by Jean Desmirail) it obtained its place at the rank of Troisième Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. The Château Desmirail vineyard is located in Cantenac and covers an area of 61 hectares. Its terroir is composed of deep gravel dating from the Quaternary era and benefits from a grape variety typical of the appellation: mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The average age of the vines is 30 years. Château Desmirail 2018 is dressed in a beautiful dark colour, between purple and ruby. On the nose, it exhales a lively and charming bouquet of small black fruits and cooked red fruits. After a few shakes of the glass, tertiary notes reveal themselves with scents of smoke and dried herbs. On the palate, Château Desmirail 2018 is medium-bodied. Its fine and straight tannic structure gives it a velvety texture that perfectly supports the aromas of juicy and fresh fruit. The mid-palate reveals more subtle notes of warm spices and earth before ending with a long and complex finish.
