NV J. Storey 'Beast' Red Blend, California   

At 15.7% alcohol it's certainly not a subtle wine, yet it's a wine that handles its power well. The rich, spicy blackberry flavors offer excellent flavor interest and balance, always very luscious and tempting without overkill. What makes this wine great is in its makeup and the skill in crafting it. The "beast" is the 65% of Petit Sirah from vines planted in the Siebe Vineyard in Solano County since 1958! The low-yielding fruit from this over half-a-century-old vines is flavor-packed with a wild character. 20% Grenache, 12% Tempranillo, and 3% Viogner all from Paso Robles vineyards were blended in to tame and focus the Petit Sirah fruit. A beautiful, robust wine that takes no prisoners!
