Winemaker Notes
With its temperate weather and lengthy hang time, the 2012 growing season was ideal for our style of Merlot, yielding a wine that combines exceptional structure and depth with velvety tannins and alluring fruit.
The nose instantly fills with luscious aromas of juicy ripe red cherry, raspberry, star jasmine, with a light spice and mineral earthiness that while subdued, is still stark.
Nestled amongst the coastal redwoods of the majestic Anderson Valley, Goldeneye’s estate vineyards yield wines that exude the characteristics of their surroundings.
Located in the heart of the Santa Maria Valley, Presqu’ile Winery produces cool-climate wines from a variety of sustainably certified vineyard plots that cover nearly 30 hectares across Santa Barbara County.
As with past vintages, the high percentage of Sonoma Coast fruit (79%) is the bedrock of the wine, delivering the signature floral and earth aromatics and fine structure for which the Banshee Pinot Noir is known.
